If you’re an Eagles fan, you should be listening to Inside the Birds podcast, especially around draft time. But, this past week it’s even more pressing to do so than usual. They had Denzel Mims as a guest on the show and his first experience in Philadelphia wasn’t exactly a ringing endorsement of the city he may soon call home:

There’s a video floating around TikTok and Twitter right now showing what Philly is really like. Denzel Mims took one look at that and was like, yup ain’t no way I’m dealing with this type of chaos on regular basis:

In my advanced scouting, which is just watching a ton of college football, I really liked Denzel Mims. He seems to have a bit of Dez Bryant in him, well maybe just on the field now. Others have compared him to Josh Gordon seeing as both are former Baylor receivers. If Mims becomes half of either of those players, the Eagles will welcome him with open arms. He absolutely crushed it at the combine and the Senior Bowl and probably catapulted himself from a second round pick to possibly creeping into the first round. At Pick 21, Mims said the Eagles have been one of the teams talking to him the most. After the comments about how scared he is of Philadelphia, selecting Mims would be a hilarious sell to the fan base.
Every year, there’s one receiver coming out of college that gets over-analyzed to the point he ends up dropping. Then, once he’s in the NFL and balling out, we all really how stupid we were being and should’ve just focused on their game tape. Last year it was DK Metcalf. This year it is shaping up to be Denzel Mims. And the Philadelphia Eagles never end up with this type of steal.
