Obviously not as big as Tom leaving, or even like Van Noy in recent years but Gostowski has been with this team forever and will be weird to see him wearing a new jersey. Now the question is, who is the new kicker? Add that to what seems to be a never ending list of question marks for this team.
Nick Folk was… serviceable last year. He was fine, I shit myself every time I saw him take the field but for the most part he was fine. With that being said as of right now the only K/P on the roster is Jake Bailey. Of course the Pats could resign Folk, he is getting up there in age and might want some more money since there currently is no other option. He could also have played himself into a new deal from a different team, who knows.
I could see them adding through the draft but that is a massive unknown BUT we just did it with Bailey last season. I feel like everyone knows about the kid from Georgia who wore those stupid glasses. He is a career 82.5% FG kicker which feels low but I’m gonna be honest I’m not going to look up what league average is. The big thing is he never missed an extra point attempt. Would I put it past Bill to draft a K in like the 5th? No. Would I put it past him to trade a 2nd or a 3rd for like two 6ths and draft a kicker there? Obviously not. The only thing I know about Bill is I have no clue what he is going to do.
Now if you’re asking me, I’d bring this kid in.
