DeAndre Hopkins To The Eagles?

NBC Sports: It might be just pre-draft chatter, but two teams over the weekend told me to watch Houston and DeAndre Hopkins, who has three years and a reasonable $40 million left on his contract, and who’d cause only a $3-million cap hit to the Texans if they traded him. Houston is currently in draft hell, without a top-50 pick in 2020 and 2021, and coach Bill O’Brien has huge needs to fill on his offensive line, in the secondary and overall youth on the front seven; J.J. Watt and Whitney Mercilus will play this year at 31 and 30.

The Eages HAVE to make a call to the Texans if this in fact true. Hopkins is a clear cut top receiver and his contract is surprisingly team friendly. DeAndre Hopkins has 12.5 million, $13.5 million and $13.9 million scheduled to be paid to him over the next three seasons. He would be a massive upgrade to this core that had Greg Ward catching late season passes last year. And for a team that has been famously unhealthy, adding a top receiver that has only missed 2 games the last 7 seasons seems like a no brainer.

No telling what this would cost the Eagles but they have to find out. If Howie picks up the phone and they say they want 10 first round picks you hang up. But at least you called. Can’t leave this stone unturned.
