Previewing UFC 248: Adesanya vs Romero

Tonight in Las Vegas, Nevada UFC 248 takes place as the main events features Israel Adesanya defends his title against Yoel Romero for the Middleweight championship of the world. In the co-main we got Zhang Weili defending her title against legend Joanna Jedrzejczyk for the women’s strawweight world championship. Here.we.go.

Lets start with the main event. Izzy “Style Bender” Adesanya is defending his world title and undefeated record against the Cuban legend Yoel Romero. This is a legacy defining fight. Adesanya sporting an 18-0 record has had RAPID rise to the top, even faster than Conor McGregor. Adesanya is a superstar. The very definition of one to be precise. When is comes to Yoel Romero, an olympic medalist wrestler and has had some close close close title fights not too long ago is looking to claim the crown at a whopping 42 years old, and he’ll be 43 next month! Same age as the goat Tom Brady, its hard to comprehend when you look at him. He is a goddam super human in every sense. For this fight, if Adesanya can keep this on the feet, it wont last past 3 rounds. His standup is one of the best in the business and if he keeps this on the feet its gonna be a masterpiece. However, If Romero can get this on the ground, it could be close. Could Romero challenge Adesanya with wrestling? It’s possible, but I don’t find it likely. The days of someone simply wrestling their way to a UFC title aren’t as common as they used to be — unless your name is Khabib. I think this one stays upright, and that’s Adesanya’s realm. We’ve never really seen a wrestler at the level of Romero go against Izzy. This is going to be a WILD fight and an absolute war between 2 all timers. If Izzy can get past Romero, his star power is only going to keep growing and growing and growing. Adesanya by TKO in the 3rd round. Oh and if you want to check out who Yoel Romero is and his absolute KILLER mindset, watch this.

Next up, in the co main we have 2 absolute BEAST women fighting for the women’s strawweight championship. The first ever Chinese champion in UFC history, Zhang Weili is defending her title against the legend and the greatest strawweight of all time Joanna. This as well is a legacy defining bout. This is a matchup of styles. Weili, who is 20-1 and has won 20 straight fights looks unstoppable. Can she stop one of the greatest women fighters in MMA history? What we’ve come to learn over the years is that styles make a huge difference in fights, and I do believe Zhang presents a challenging one for Joanna. Joannais one of the Zhang is a tough matchup with her physicality, pressure and boxing. And she has momentum on her side. I am split right down the middle on this one, but if I have to lean one way and i think Zhang Weili wins this by split decision in a close close bout. She obviously has the emotional aspect with what has been going on in China lately (she almost didnt get let out of the country for this, but ended up getting out) Either way this is going to be an awesome fight with high high stakes for both women. LFG!

Another fight to look out for is on the prelims card on ESPN with my guy Sugar Sean O’Malley making his return for the first time in 2 years due to drug tests issues. The kid is only 25 and is 10-0 in his career. I am really high on this kid and think he has a bright future to be a breakout star one day. I mean look at this fucking guy!
