Way back in September (or October), when I was happy and full of life; pretty optimistic I would say. CEO Joe told me to make some bold predictions about the Flyers season. On top of predicting a Stanley Cup run with a face-off against Colorado. Gun to my head, I made a not so bold prediction that Travis Konecny would be absolutely lights out. This season TK has not disappointed.
Following last nights thumping of the Capitals, TK has 61 points in 63 games. No doubt if he didn’t miss time with a concussion, he would be way over 70 points by now. In his last 5 games he has 3 goals and 7 assists. 7 assist is a lot of apples, and I personally hope he spends the rest of the season with Kevin Hayes since those memes absolutely make themselves. Add a dash of Scott Laughton not smiling at anything, perfect story that we could watch all season.

After his goal was disallowed because a Capital pushed Coots into his own goalie, just a whopping 71 seconds later TK buries it and lets the fans behind the net know it counted. In a post game interview TK stayed as humble as ever, “We’re just coming in every night and we stay humble,” Konecny said. “We play with confidence, with speed. We play those guys the same way we play everybody else. You just got to work hard and you know it’s going to pay off or you.”
The only reason I want this season to be over is so I can get a full compilation of TK’s 24 (and counting) goals, plus the playoffs.
The Metropolitan has been put on notice, do not sleep on the Flyers.
