Metropolitan Smack-Down Part 2: Flyers vs. Capitals Preview

Tonight is the night! The Flyers are second in the Metro and are in DC to take on the Washington Capitals. If you’re in denial, or waiting for the Sixers to take back the hearts of Bandwagon Philly fans. It’s time for you to grow up and get over it. With a win tonight the Flyers could be one point out of first place in the Metro, and more importantly guaranteed home ice in the first, and probably second round of the playoffs.

Vigneault is sticking with what works, and I personally love it. The top line is loaded by G, Coots, and Voracek. The biggest shit talking, big hitting, lamp lighting trio in orange since the Legion of Doom. With a win tonight, it’s time to get excited. Every other team in the Metro has been sliding. After getting slapped around by the Flyers twice, both the Rangers and Blue Jackets are in the rear view mirror. The Penguins are back to the ways of old, with the Captain only having one goal in 6 games.

I am so sick and tired of hearing about how great the Capitals are and how much of an elite scoring machine Ovi is. All great things must come to an end, and it’s time for the Capitals to fall back to Earth.

If the Flyers can take down the Capitals for the second time this season I really think that the time is now, and we should get excited for an interesting post season here in Philadelphia.
