The Coolest New Flyers

The Flyers announced the opening night roster yesterday, and something surprising happened. The Flyers sent down Morgan Frost and Joel Farabee to the absurd Leigh Valley Phantoms. Farabee had a strong camp, real strong. Its shocking that he is not on the open night roster, but he was drafted just last year, and hes going to make the LVP some mad merch money with a name like that.

The Flyers also sent down Morgan Frost, and it was not because of his play or anything like that. He spent most of the preseason battling injury, and it may have hindered his chances. I am hoping he will be the first line center for the Phantoms, but time will tell. He will be back soon, with an absolute vengeance.

Now, to the coolest new Flyers. Connor Bunnaman (82), and Carsen Twarynski (81). What a hockey name, and I hope they keep their numbers.

Carsen Twarynski is a Canadian born forward, he was drafted 82nd overall in the 3rd round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. He spent 5 seasons in the Western Hockey League, playing 3 seasons for the Hitmen, and 2 for the Rockets; where he notched 72 points in 68 games. He had a strong season for the Phantoms last year, putting up 24 points in 69 games.

Connor Bunnaman is another Canadian, I know surprising. He was drafted in the same draft as Twarynski, but 109th overall in the 4th round. He did 4 years in the OHL for the Kitchener Rangers, where he captain his final season. Last year for the Phantoms he put up 32 points in 64 games, that’s pretty good.

14 players out of the Flyers 23 man roster is amazing. Samuel Morin has made the team out of camp as well, and we have been waiting 6 years for him, so I hope he sticks around. 14 players, its all thanks to some amazing drafting by the Flyers. I am going to be optimistic this year, Fly or Die.
