Two Eagles Players Are Most Likely On Their Way Out Of Town After Last Night

Eagles took a beating last night. Lost the rain shortened game by 11 but outside of McCown and Arcega-Whiteside, the game was mostly a dud. There are going to be a number of guys getting cut this week. Obviously with McCown playing as well as he did Thorson will either go to the practice squad or cut. I lean practice squad for him. McCown clearly has taken over the number 2 spot and when Sudfeld is healthy he’ll be back to the third string.  Kessler should have been cut in the second quarter last night. He looked lost, slow and overwhelmed. Not something you want on the roster, so see-ya dink.

The QB squad is one that’s pretty obvious but the interesting position that was being tested last night was running back. They made it very clear they wanted to see what Corey Clement had and he didn’t disappoint. 7 attempts for 25 yards for an average of 3.6 YPC, we’ll take it. That all but sealed the deal for Clement. The Eagles currently have 7 running backs on the roster and will only take 4 into the season. 7 – 4 = 3 guys are about to be out like sour kraut. Josh Adams will most likely be sent to the practice squad. They seem to like him even though he can’t hang on to a football to save his life. Boston Scott and Wendell Smallwood will be the running back casualties this preseason.

Projected Eagles RBs: Miles Sanders (no brainer), Jordan Howard (also no brainer), Darren Sproles (brainer but kinda not) and Corey Clement (out played Wendell.)

Most the other positions are pretty straight forward and I wouldn’t expect anything crazy to happen. Now we just need to push through this last preseason game and start the show. Eagles 16-0 averaging 40 points a game. Super Bowl or bust!!!
