Last week was the first glimpse of NFL football we’ve had in 7 months and just like every year you’re left wanting more. Preseason week 1 is always just us chasing that high from the previous season. Now it is week 2 and we’ve settled down a bit, adjusted our expectations but if you’re reading this there is just an itch that you can’t scratch. Degenerates unite, here is the one true place to get your picks, last week we went 2-3 (read here) so they brought the big guns in for week 2.
Chicago Bears @ New York Giants
Giants -2 O/U: 42.5
I don’t love Daniel Jones. I don’t think he is going to see the field too much more than he did last week and I don’t think he is going to lead the team to a touchdown on the opening drive. This seems like a big time bait game, Giants looked decent against the Jets and the new Rookie QB is getting the New York media hype. A perfect recipe for something catastrophic to happen. I love the Bears +2 and hate that I’m saying but I’m taking the under also.
Cleveland Browns @ Indianapolis Colts
Colts -3 O/U: 43
This is my favorite game of the week, I love games like this. Two teams who in recent years have under preformed due to injuries, bad coaching etc. and they are both expected to be not only competitive but playoff teams and possible division winners. This is a big gut feeling type of game for me and I think if this was in the regular season I would be taking the Browns but I’m taking the Colts and the over in this one.
New England Patriots @ Tennessee Titns
Patriots -1 O/U: 41
As a Patriots fan I usually don’t care about the preseason but I was curious about how our new defensive players would look and how Stidham would perform under the, sort of, big lights. Shockingly Hoyer was very good and the defense was absolutely unstoppable. Because of that you have to put your money on the Titans. When Hoyer plays I can’t imagine he will play as well as he did against the Lions and I don’t think Stidham is going to lead a comeback. Belichick is going to turn the defense down a bit for this game and I wouldn’t be shocked if Bill let Vrabel get a free one this week.
Not confident on this but I think the under is the play here, too.
San Francisco 49ers @ Denver Broncos
Broncos -2.5 O/U: 41.5
There was a report floating around this week about Jimmy G throwing 5 picks on 5 consecutive drives in practice this week and yikes. Jimmy is supposed to play in this game and I can see him looking to show out after that report has people talking. If Jimmy goes 3 or 4 drives I got 49ers winning. This is a risky play but 49ers +2.5 is the move and I really like the over here.
