Philadelphia has offered a five-year, $168M maximum contract extension to Ben Simmons and the Sixers and agent Rich Paul are expected to work through the details toward an eventual agreement, league sources tell ESPN.

LFG. Ben and Joel locked down for the future is a huge win. This shows you that Philadelphia believes in Ben’s shot developing. As they should. He’s 22, already an all star and has a skill set that no one else outside of LeBron has. This is big news, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this comes with some cap relief for this year. Give me a ‘Simmons signed’ tweet followed by Danny Green to Philly and I’ll be hard for a week.
