Sixers did a ton of moving and shaking last night. Al Horford signing is one I love, $97 million is a good chunk of money but he’s going to help this team on so many levels. He’s one of the smartest players in the NBA and with the attention he draws, Embiid is going to be even more effective. Love the pick up.
Obviously Jimmy Butler wanting to head to Miami hurts but I also love the Richardson exchange. He has one of the most team friendly contracts in the entire league. This city is going to fall head over heels with him immediately.
But there are still some missing pieces and one large hole that needs to be filled. There is one man that can fill that hole. One man that checks a ton of Philly’s boxes. One man that Elton needs to push all in for.
Danny Green to Philly!! Let’s get this shit done Elton. Sixers need off the bench scoring and there isn’t a guy better suited left in free agency to fill that role. Green shot 45.5% from beyond the arc last season. He also brings a ton of playoff experience to a team that is going to be, on paper, a 1 or 2 seed in the East. The Sixers front office has done a ton to max this starting 5 one of the best in the NBA, now they need to strengthen the bench. If you have Green as your sixth man, Mike Scott (who ain’t no bitch) and one more FA signing, you’re a championship contender.
I love NBA free agency, it’s as compelling as the regular season, if not more. Ready for October already.
