Avery Johnson is interviewing for a job on Brett Brown's staff with the 76ers, league sources tell ESPN. Johnson has previously been a head coach with Alabama, the Nets and Mavericks.

Ehhhhhhhhh. Don’t love it, don’t hate it either. The guy hasn’t coached in the NBA for 7 years but is still a popular name to bring in for an assistant gig. Hate the idea of putting a guy like this under Brown though. We won’t even get into December before idiots start calling for Avery to take Brown’s job. Every loss it will be the same shit on every sports talk show, radio or tv. I’m actually already tired of hearing about it and it hasn’t even happened yet.
Overall, sexy name but not sure if it’s worth the headache. If he can get the guys to hustle more with his fire energy then yes, I’m all in on tossing him on the bench. Next Sixers breaking news I need to hear is Jimmy inks his max deal.
