Yankees “field” MLB’s top All-Injured Team!

The Yankees are 4 games into the season and they can already almost field a team with their injured players.

They started the season with their starting shortstop Didi Gregorius on the IL recovering from Tommy John surgery. Their ace Luis Severino has been on the shelf since spring training with a throwing arm injury. As well as CC Sabathia, Aaron Hicks and Delin Betances starting the season on the IL.

That list right there makes Yankee fans cringe, because this team has a chance to compete for a World Series.

The team is sitting at 2-2 after 4 games in the Bronx. They not only lost 2 games to the O’s but they also just lost 2 more starting players with big names.

On Monday morning the team added starting LF/DH Giancarlo Stanton to the 10 Day IL with a right bicep injury.

It couldn’t get any worse right?

Well right before the Monday night game against the Tigers it came out that starting third baseman Miguel Andujar had a shoulder injury.

Just seeing “shoulder strain” make the Yankees faithful nervous. Then after the win, Aaron Boone revealed that the injury may be worse than first suspected.

It is not going to be easy to fill Andujar’s spot, the kid just seems to have a knack for getting base hit after base hit and should have been last year’s AL ROY.

But…

The Yanks are luckily very deep. They signed DJ LeMahieu in the offseason and it seems he will slide in and take most of the reps at 3B. LeMahieu has had a great start to the season at the plate and is simply smooth in the field. His signing may end up being one of the most important of the offseason.

The team has also recalled infielder Tyler Wade who gets another shot with the Yanks in the bigs. Wade is a fan favorite and has been busting his hump to get back to the Bronx. He even took a $315 Uber straight from Scranton on Monday night to get to the Yanks game after being called up.

The Yankees have also brought Clint Frazier up to the bigs. Frazier is a big prospect that has a chance to become a great hitter. This could help both the Yankees and Frazier if he plays well.

Frazier could end up being Gardner’s replacement or his value could rise if he plays well and the Yanks can trade him at the deadline.

Am I worried? Uhh yeah. But not panicking yet. Hopefully they can get through the next few weeks healthy and start reloading!

GO YANKS!
