It’s the middle of March Madness and I don’t know about all of you, but my brackets are screwed and over and I lost all my money. With that being said, I thought of a cocktail that can make me (and you if you’re in the same boat) feel better.
What’s the one alcoholic beverage that makes all the bad thoughts disappear because well you don’t remember them? TEQUILA!
So let’s make a yummy orange margarita with lots of that magic ingredient and not worry so much about our brackets being complete failures.
Also-I decided to make an orange margarita because basketballs are orange. That to me makes it an acceptable March Madness cocktail. Clever right?
Recipe: March Madness Orange Margarita
-4 Ounces Tequila
-3 Ounces Triple Sec, or other orange liqueur About two shots
-1 and 1/2 Cups Fresh Orange Juice
-1/4 Cup fresh Lime Juice (so you will need limes)
-2-3 Cups Ice
-Coarse salt or sugar for rim of glass
-Orange and lime slices for garnish
Directions: (there’s only 4 steps)
1. Combine tequila, triple sec, fresh OJ, lime juice and ice in a blender and blend until all of the ice is crushed and margarita looks frothy and smooth.
2. Wet the rim of your margarita glass and then dip in the salt or sugar.
3. Pour your margarita from the blender into the glass and garnish with fresh lime & orange slices.
4. Drink until you forget how bad your bracket sucks.
