Absolutely brutal scene in the NBA last night:
Thoughts and Prayers for Russell Westbrook during this tough time. No one should have to go through the traumatic experience of a 12 year old touching your elbow. Hate to see this as it could be a HUGE black eye for the league and its fans.
I wouldn’t be surprised If Westbrook took some time away from the game after this (as a Sixer fan that’d be great since we play them tomorrow with no Centers). I just don’t know how any one man could mentally handle such a menacing pre-teen.
Russ has had a lot of low points in his career. He went 7-24 in Game 7 of the 2016 Western Conference Finals. They blew a 3-1 lead to the Warriors. KD left him for those said Warriors. Paul George overtook him as the alpha. But this instance last night had to be the lowest point yet.
This kid, and his parents, should be ashamed of themselves. This isn’t a petting zoo, it’s a basketball game. Just because you’re enamored with Westbrook’s incredible amount of meaningless triple doubles in losses, doesn’t mean you can reach out and touch the guy.
Worst fan related incident in the NBA since Malice in the Palace?
