Last night was one of the most hyped up college basketball games of the season so far and maybe even the most anticipated in the past 5 seasons. People were shelling out an average of $2,500 per ticket to get inside Cameron Indoor Stadium and see #1 Duke against #8 North Carolina. Which, to put price in perspective cost more than Game One of the 2018 World Series.
A handful of celebrities were on hand to watch the contest, including former President Barack Obama, MLB legend Ken Griffey Jr. and entertainment icon, Spike Lee. They were all hoping to see the talented freshman trio from Duke get their first taste of one of the greatest rivalries in sports.
Until this happened…
Zion just ripped through his Nike shoe.. smh now Zion gonna sign with Puma or something when he gets to the league #UNCvsDuke #Duke #UNC pic.twitter.com/5bhCzEABNH

40 seconds into the game, Zion goes to make a cut and his whole shoe explodes! He goes down grabbing his right knee and never returns to the game. Basically sucking all the air right out of the gym.
Without Zion, Duke just didn’t have enough fire power to stay in the game, even with Barrett and Reddish combining for 60 of their 72 points. Duke never recovered and ultimately lost the contest by 16.

Nike can’t even make shoes strong enough to keeping people from blowing out of them!
Coach K said that it only appears to be a minor knee sprain and that Zion should be back I no time! If not, Duke is in trouble…
Question is will he shut himself down and preserve his draft status? I mean who wouldn’t want to end up on the Knicks?!
Get well soon Zion, your team needs you!
