Down goes Wilt!

Wilt Chamberlain may be the most intimidating man to have ever touched a basketball court. He stood at 7’1″ and was a grown ass man playing against what seemed like little children at the time. He held/ holds many records, some of which will never get broken. But records were meant to get broken and 1 record went down last night and one in within reach for another player.

Russell Westbrook posted a triple double for the 10th consecutive game last night breaking Wilt’s record of 9 straight games. Westbrook has been quietly averaging a triple double for his 3rd consecutive season. The thought of players not being able to play well next to Westbrook has been quieted by a MVP type season by counterpart PG3. It took Westbrook all the way until late into the 4th to get his triple double. But when your teammate is going off for 47 points the assists add up.

Also happening last night, James Harden became the 2nd man ever to have scored 30 points or more in 30 consecutive games behind… you guessed it… Wilt! It took Harden until 1 min left in a blowout game to reach the mark. But you could tell he was totally gunning for it. Unfortunately, he has 1 more game to catch Wilt’s second place record at 31 straight games and only 35 more consecutive games at 30 points to tie Wilt’s first place record… Yes, you read that right. 65 straight games with 30 points or more! That’s absurd!

One record that continues to stand the test of time is scoring 100pts in a game. Kobe was the closest with 81 while lighting up Jalen Rose. I’m not sure that this record will ever be touched but the way today’s NBA game is played you never know! Also… according to urban legend Wilt had relations with 20,000 plus women… but that’s a story for another day
