Dak Prescott is next in line to get paid. His rookie contract is up and Jerry Jones is basically independently responsible for how much Dak is going to get this offseason so he’ll probably get a lot more than $20 million without making a peep. So he probably should have not even said anything.
Dak says that he will not sacrifice a massive contract to allow his team to spend money on other high level players like Tom Brady does every year while completely coincidentally winning Super Bowl after Super Bowl. But the reason why Dak can’t afford to lose any money is because he doesn’t have a millionaire supermodel wife like Tom Brady does.
“Nobody’s wife makes as much money as his wife does either,” Prescott said, via USA Today. “When Tom Brady isn’t the breadwinner in the home, then that’s a great problem to have. So in that case, he can do that. He can do his contract however you want to do it.” -BlackSportsOnline.com
Many people would say that not wanting to be the breadwinner of his home would make Dak seem like less of a man. Some might argue he’s actually a feminist, wanting his wife to make more money than him. I’m not here to judge that. I just think Tom Brady takes less money than he deserves so he can build up guys around him. Because he is a selfless leader that will put his life on the line for the team. I don’t think it has an ounce to do with the fact that Gisele is worth about $400 million and has been the highest paid model for the past 15 years. If Tom Brady was married to, for example: me, I still think he would take a below market deal if it would win him another championship.
The logic makes sense, but it’s just not true. Gisele is one of the richest models of all time. Dak Prescott is never going to marry a Gisele, his track record is Instagram models. Dak will be set for life whether he gets $18 million per year or $25 million per year. If I can survive paying my mortgage and all my bills by myself I don’t think Dak needs to rely on a wife.
That being said, go get your money where you can. Dak deserves to suck Jerry Jones dry and get every penny he can out of having to deal with Jason Garrett. Unless he’s as good as Sam Bradford or Brock Osweiler, he really gets only one shot at getting a monster contract so throw your best at it, Dak. Jerry is the type to hear these comments and agree with him like damn that is a great point Tony I mean Dak.
