Bruins Rookie Kicks Some Ass in Tough Loss to Winnipeg

The Bruins were back in action Tuesday night following the All-Star break and they were thrown right into the fire with a tough matchup against Winnipeg. The B’s looked like the Bruins of old when it went to a shootout and ended up losing out on a valuable second point. However, the shootout loss was far from the story for the Bruins.

The 2nd period got gritty out of nowhere Tuesday night and after Kevan Miller answered the bell following a big hit of his own, Bruins rookie, Trent Frederic, took time out of his NHL debut to bash some poor bastards head in.

Bruce Cassidy has made me get used to seeing plenty of baby faces on the ice with all of the young guys that have suited up the last couple of years. But I don’t think anyone expected those type of hands to be thrown by this guy.

I mean Frederic looks no older than 14 in his draft picture above. You wouldn’t have been able to convince me that this guy would be beat the piss out of someone in his first NHL game until I saw it with my own eyes.

Apparently he must be no stranger to dropping them because unlike most parents who hate to see their kids fight, the Frederics celebrated like mad men after their son’s tilt. Even if it was the worst high five of all time.

I’m sure with a little more practice and few more skulls pushed in by their son, the Frederics will have their high fives down pat.
