Dwight Howard has been hot in the streets for the past few days with quite the saga happening in his personal life. We have still not yet clarified what from this story is true or untrue but Dwight Howard’s silence has spoken volumes.
To be fair he hasn’t tweeted anything since July 13th so it’s possible he hasn’t even heard the story. I can’t imagine the responsibility of the person who has to tell him the news. I think I’d just pull up the Twitter thread and hand over the phone and run away.
But this morning we got Woj bombed with the news that Dwight Howard would likely need surgery. Nothing in the tweet or the headline gave any insight on what the injury was, so I clicked to update myself on the latest sports news from a strictly professional standpoint. An boy was I in for a treat.
Howard aggravated a piriformis muscle injury in a Nov. 18 game against Portland and has missed 12 of the Wizards’ 21 games this season, plus training camp.
What’s a piriformis muscle you ask? According to SpineHealth.com, the piriformis muscle is “a small muscle located deep in the buttock, behind the gluteus maximus.”
That’s right…Dwight Howard is going to be sidelined with a buttocks injury. I’m not going to make any jokes about this because I am not judging whatever Dwight Howard does with his buttocks. I can only hope for a speedy recovery of Dwight’s buttocks so he can get back to doing what he loves most…playing basketball.
