College Football is full of great past players who seemingly fell off the face of the Earth. These guys were all world in College and then disappeared either with a short career in the pros or an injury plagued one.
Tshimanga “Tim” Biakabutuka –Today we start with Michigan Wolverine great, Tim Biakabutuka, who had the most fun name to say during 90s College football. If you’re too young or do not remember Tim, he was the backup to Tyrone Wheatley and Ricky Powers his freshman and Sophomore years before breaking out and setting the all time Michigan Rushing Record his Junior Year. That year his trademark game came against Unbeaten Ohio State, slashing them for over 300 yards and a touchdown.
Tim was selected Eighth overall in the 1996 Draft by the Carolina Panthers becoming the first ever Zairean born player in the NFL. Tim played 5 injury plagued season for the Panthers before retiring due to the wear and tear.
Where is he now?
Tim took the advice of longtime Panthers Owner and Founder, Jerry Richardson and bought into the fast food business. Tim owns 4 Bojangles Restaurants in the Augusta Georgia area. He enjoys getting back together with his college teammates feeling that was the best time of his football life.
