Rejoice! After coming out with a defense and goalie that looked like a leaky faucet through the first period, the Chicago Blackhawks edged the Ottawa Senators 4-3 in OT. Thank you, Kaner.

Not gonna lie, it was pretty ugly through the first two periods. The defense was letting plays develop left and right, Cam Ward didn’t look comfortable in net and a lot of the young guys looked lost out on the ice. Shit.
The deciding factor of this win? The vets decided put the team on their backs and bring them to the fucking promiseland.
Jonathan Toews looked like a young buck out there with lightning speed and aggressive playmaking, netting a goal and an assist.

Our Lord and Savior Patrick Kane had a sick pass to Brent Seabrook for a goal and of course, netted the game winner with a filthy back-handed goal.

Even Cam Ward settled in and made some nice stops when it counted…but let’s get Crow back RIGHT. NOW. Or October 18th, that’s cool too.
Shout out to Alex DeBrincat for starting the game with a straight laser too – no sophomore slump is happening for this guy.
And how about Henri Jokiharju? Sure, he looked a little fidgety with the puck, but the kid turned in a solid NHL debut – and received some straight love from Coach Q.
Joel Quenneville on Henri Jokiharju's NHL debut: "I thought he had a tremendous game… Looked like he's played the game for a long long time at this level." #Blackhawks

But, as I said up top, it was an ugly win. Let’s not freak out though, it was just game 1 and it’s still 2 points. Fuck yeah.
Side note: Did anyone else hear Eddie Olczyk going hard on the Hawks’ mistakes? I LOVED IT. Edzo doesn’t have time for bullshit and he let it show in the booth. Keep it up.
Shout Out: To young goalie Collin Delia – This dude flew in to Ottawa, landed at 6:30 and arrived for the game ready to go with no morning or pregame skate after Anton Forsberg went down with an injury before the game. The things we do for hockey.
And one last thing: I think it’s awesome the Hawks will be honoring Stan Mikita this season with the 21 patch. I’m a youngin’ and never saw the dude play, but I appreciate my Blackhawks history.

Onto to the St. Louis Blues (fuckers). Here come the Hawks…
