Brendan Schaub is Getting a Showtime Comedy Special

After a little over two years of doing stand up comedy, Brendan Schaub is shooting a comedy special with Showtime and I already can’t wait for it.

In between his emotional plea to pay for the mounting medical bills of UFC flyweight Ray Borg’s son (get well soon little guy) and breaking down Khabib vs McGregor on episode #43 of The JRE MMA Show with Joe Rogan, Big Brown made the announcement that he is shooting a stand up comedy special with Showtime in January at the Spreckels Theatre in San Diego. The release date for the special has yet to be announced.

It is a huge milestone for the former UFC heavyweight as he is already filming a special with a major network after only a short time in the stand up comedy game.

The 35-year-old officially started doing stand up when he performed 10 minutes of solo material before The Fighter and The Kid Live show at The Vic Theatre in Chicago in 2016 and hasn’t looked back.Ā He now performs weekly sets at the world-famous Comedy Store in Los Angeles and is on a worldwide comedy tour.

The announcement comes at a big time for Big Brown – he hosts his own weekly MMA podcast and digital video seriesĀ Below The BeltĀ on Showtime, co-hosts The Fighter and The Kid with best friend and fellow comedian Bryan Callen, covers Showtime Boxing pay-per-view events and co-hosts on the E! NewsĀ After PartyĀ for the Oscars, Emmys and Grammys.

Oh, he also brought me and my girlfriend together in front of our TV with his new show on Bravo calledĀ Bravo’s Play by Play –Ā a panel-style talk show where he, actor Jerry O’Connell, comedian Michael Yo and Esquire editor-at-large Dave Holmes break down Bravo reality shows – there isn’t anything this man can’t do.

If you’ve never see Schaub perform live, what the fuck are you waiting for? I recently saw him perform at the Chicago Improv in Schaumburg, Illinois and he brought the damn house down.

On top of all that, he’s one of the nicest dudes I’ve ever met. Do yourself a favor and get the Meet and Greet option for after the show. You can find tour dates and purchase tickets at TFATK.com.

Congrats, Big Brown! We can’t wait to see this shit come to life.
