They did it… THEY DID IT. And it honestly wasn’t even close. Me, being the paranoid Yankee fan that I am hung on every pitch… But this team was in control of the game from the opening pitch.
The stage was set… The stadium was packed, Bernie Williams threw out the first pitch, the young Yankee superstars were locked in and were not going to let anything get in their way.

You know right away if Severino “has it or not.” Oh… Did he have it. Blasting fastball after fastball in the first inning! 98.. 99.. 100! And just like that down go the A’s 1-2-3 in the first.
Yankees bats new that Sevy was dealing and knew exactly what to do. Cutch got a clutch leadoff walk and it was time for everyone to rise..

And there goes the Judge, deep into the left field seats! A two run shot to give the Yanks a 2-0 lead and they would never look back.
The game turned into a pitchers duel in the middle innings. Sevy worked out of trouble in the 4th and got a huge strikeout to end the inning. The stadium was electric and Sevy was was leading the charge.
He came back out in the 5th, still leading 2-0. He let the fist two on with no outs so it was time for the bullpen. Sevy finished with 4 IP, 2 hits, 0 ER and 7 strikeouts.
First out of the pen, the either electric or nerve racking Dellin Betances.
Last night he was electric. He got out of the inning without surrendering a hit, came back out in the sixth and was dominant again. When he is on, he is un-hittable.

Bottom 6, Judge hit a crazy dribbler up the first base line for a double. Aaron Hicks would drive him in with a double of his own, 3-0 Yanks. Stanton would work a walk to have two on with no outs.
Then… He came up. The man that was made to be a Yankee, Luke Voit. Facing A’s ace in the hole, Blake Treinen, who was untouchable all season. The big man battled, a 9 pitch AB, and then…

A blast to right field, he thought it was gone but it’s off the wall… Hicks scores, Stanton scores… Voit with a triple and its 5-0 Yanks!! Then on a sac fly the big man with an amazing slide home to make it 6-0.

Then we heard it..
“WE WANT BOSTON ….. WE WANT BOSTON ….. WE WANT BOSTON!!!”
WE WANT BOSTON!

WE WANT BOSTON!

The crowd knew this Yankee team was headed to the ALDS.
Robertson came in and was lights out. Britton gave up a two run home run to the MLB home run leader Khris Davis to cut the lead to 6-2.
But… Then… In his first ever Postseason game Giancarlo Stanton hit a MONSTER SHOT to left field. “A Stantonian Blast” That I still don’t think has come down, to make the game 7-2.

Chappy came in for the 9th… The Yankees popped bottles and for the first time since 2004, they are heading to Boston for a playoff series.

First time these two teams will ever meet in the ALDS. The pressure is all on Boston. They won 108 games, they won the division, they have been the big bad team all year.
So this Yankee team is going to play loose and fun, because they are young… They don’t know any better.
Yanks will throw Happ in game one Friday night, who historically has been fantastic against the Sox.
The season series was 10-9 Sox. This should be an unbelievably great series. I think it will go 5 and I think it will be great for the game of baseball.
Yankees… Red Sox… In October.

It doesn’t get any better than this. Buckle up it’s going to be a hell of a ride!
GO YANKS!
