Murt’s Man Bait-Cheese & Prosecco (this is actually woman bait guys so pay attention).

I realize that with this next recipe I’m about to present to you, that I once again am using a recipe that’s main ingredient is cheese. I realized this as I started typing. I want to clarify to everyone that my cholesterol is actually normal and I thank the Lord every day for a fast metabolism.

(Now it’s time for a popsicle stick joke about cheese:

What music does cheese listen to?

R and Brie.

Hahahaha okay thanks. I needed that).

This recipe is one that I’ve been making at parties for years. It’s one that at first you think “I don’t know if I’ll like that,” then you taste it and you’re hooked. I made it once for a Super Bowl party and my fiancé’s nephews devoured it in about 7 seconds. Also, the beauty of this recipe is that it looks complex, but IT IS SO EASY to make.

I present to you: MURT’S OVEN BAKED BRIE

Pair with: WINE obviously. Chardonnay is commonly the best wine to go with Brie cheese but honestly I hate pretty much most Chardonnay’s, HOWEVER I have found in my drinking experiences that Prosecco pairs well with just about everything and I am known to be a Prosecco connoisseur….just ask basically everyone that knows me. I’m strongly considering having a Prosecco fountain at my wedding. Don’t judge me.

Ingredients:

-1 can Pillsbury crescent rolls

-1 round Brie cheese

-1/2 cup apricot preserves (if you don’t like apricot you can really use any flavor you like)

-1 egg

-1 tablespoon water

For Dipping:

-4 to 5 Granny Smith apples

-Club crackers

Directions: (don’t worry I will post pictures below)

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2. On a flat surface, gently tear apart the crescent dough so that the crescent rolls form a square or rectangle. Press the perforations together so they don’t tear apart and form one flat surface of dough

3. Lay the dough out on a sheet of parchment paper to prevent sticking

4. Take a little more than half of your preserves and spread them evenly in the center of your dough

5. Place the circle of Brie on top of the preserves in the center then add the remainder of the preserves on top of the Brie

6. Fold the dough around the Brie so that it is encased in the dough

7. Take your egg and water and beat together making an egg wash then brush the egg wash overtop and on the sides of the dough

8. Place the parchment paper with dough on top of a baking sheet and bake for 20-30 minutes

9. Check every 10 minutes to make sure it doesn’t burn

10. Once you see a golden brown crust, your Brie is ready to go!

11. Let sit for about 10 minutes and then serve with sliced Granny Smith apples, club crackers and of course Prosecco!

Men-if you’re single and trying to impress a female (or if you’re in the dog house with your woman), MAKE THIS!…. I’m telling you, it’s actually “woman bait.” Why? Because guys don’t think to make something like this, but it’s actually a super popular appetizer dish and it looks semi sophisticated in front of guests. Also-cheese and Prosecco really is the key to most women’s hearts.

You wanna know what’s better than hearing the man you love say he loves you??

There’s only one thing.

It’s the popping sound a Prosecco bottle cork makes when opening the bottle.

You heard it hear first. I am not only a great cook, I’m also a fabulous wing woman.

You’re welcome in advance and enjoy!
