No, it wasn’t a Dream, Khalil Mack is a Chicago Bear

I hope all of you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. This one will forever go down as the best Labor Day weekend I’ve ever had. Why, you ask?

Because I woke up to news from Adam Schefter on Saturday morning that the Chicago Bears got KHALIL MACK.

Even after waking up today, I still can’t believe this shit is real. The Bears now have one of the top-five defensive players in the NFL and have him long-term after signing Mack to a record-setting 6-year, $141 million contract extension that includes $90 million guaranteed with $60 million at signing. Baller.

Damn, those colors look good on the Mack.

Sure, the Bears gave up their 2019 and 2020 first round picks, 2020 third round pick and 2019 sixth round pick. But, Mack is a once-in-a-lifetime type player with Hall of Fame-level talent, not just Pro Bowl talent. He’s a leader. A game-changer. Someone who makes opposing offensive coordinators shit themselves when they prep for him.

He was also the 2016 NFL Defensive Player of the Year and has averaged over 10 sacks the past four seasons. Oh, and I’d like to add that he’s only 27 years old, entering his prime.

Not to mention, Ryan Pace and his mad hair flow fleeced the Raiders by also taking their 2020 second round pick and a 2020 conditional sixth round pick, which apparently Jon Gruden wasn’t aware of.

This completely changes the context of the Bears 2019-2020 season. The Blue & Orange go from playing a development bridge season to becoming playoff hopefuls. Their defense goes from good to great. Head coach Matt “Swaggy” Nagy now has a defense to rely on for his offense to get going and Vic Fangio will be salivating at the mouth weekly with all the packages he can draw up with the Mack.

The best part about this weekend? The hilarity that ensued on the internet. Special shout out to Bears cornerback Prince Amukamara and Barstool Big Cat for executing an expert troll job on Raiders quarterback Derek Carr:

And a very special shoutout to the dude below who showed us how Madden 19 declined the real life trade between the Bears and Raiders…you da real MVP:

My prayers are going up for Aaron Rodgers, Matthew Stafford and Kirk Cousins. Mack Attack is coming for you and there’s no stopping him #Pray4TheNFCNorth

And to all the Packers fans downplaying the trade and hating on Bears fans, don’t act like you wouldn’t be as excited. You all were just as jacked at the prospect of Mack being traded to the Cheeseheads before he went to the Bears. Don’t @ me, just ask your fans.

To Chicago, enjoy the rest of the week by blasting “Return of the Mack” by Mark Morrison on repeat.
