JJ Redick Talks About The Time He May Have Stumbled Onto Human Trafficking

So this story came out over the weekend. JJ Redick was leaving a photo shoot with his wife and sister in-law, they had a driver hired to pick them up after and take them home. After they got in the car they noticed a weird smell, his sister in-law looked behind them and saw what they described as a “box or cage” with a PERSON in it. JJ breaks down the incident on his podcast.

HuffPost ā€œIā€™m like, ā€˜Sir, I think thereā€™s a person in your backseat.ā€™ And so he lifts the blanket up, but like towards the window, so that the blanket is facing up, so we couldnā€™t see, because we were on the sidewalk ā€” perpendicular to the car, not behind the car. And heā€™s like, ā€˜No, thereā€™s nothing in here. Thereā€™s nothing in here.ā€™ And he closes the blanket back. And then he closes the trunk. And as heā€™s walking around to the front seat, a head pops up.ā€

Taken 4: The Chronicles of Redick. All joking aside, this is an all time nightmare scenario. Hop into a car and whoops the driver is Norman Bates. The crazy thing about all of this to me is that when the Huff Post reached out to the NYPD they said they still have no information about the incident. How? This is an NBA player and this was a hired driver. We’re not talking about some sketchy Uber driver murdering blondes on the reg, there has to be something on this guy.

I will say though, this is great news for the Sixers. You just got JJ to sign on for another year, after this he might move the entire family to Philadelphia and sign for the veteran minimum. Redick is retiring a Sixer and moving to the Main Line, fuck New York. That would be enough for me to move in a heartbeat. Be safe out there JJ, need you healthy and more importantly ALIVE this season.
