Last night during a meaningless ninth inning of a 10-3 Cleveland win over Cincinnati, the Reds decided to bring in utility man Brandon Dixon to make his pitching debut. In the ninth inning he threw a total of 10 pitches and recorded 3 outs. All 10 of those pitches registered under 75 mph and each were considered a curve ball. More impressive than cruising through the inning completely unscathed was how bad he embarrassed actually good baseball player Jose Ramirez.

It’s so slow it’s fast. That is a tough look for a man who was an All-Star and has over 30 dingers on the season. Dixon now has more recorded outs (3) than career home runs (2). Solid.
