What’s up everyone? My name is Meagan, Moomer, Murt, the cute & sassy sports blog writer. Whatever makes you happy.

My good friend Kevin, also known as “Kmess” thought I would be a good addition to the Branded Sports crew. He says they need a knowledgeable girl on the writing team that readers will actually respect. I think he’s full of shit and just wanted to continue our 17 year rivalry between the Eagles and the Cowboys. (The best thing about mine and Kev’s rivalry is that his wife always takes my side).

Either way, bring it.

Before you close your desktop and start thinking “why would I read what a girl sports blogger has to say?”….let me confidently tell you that I have much “street cred” when it comes to my sports knowledge and imaginary balls bigger than JPP thinking he can win a thumb wrestling war. I’m that chick who will show up at a sports bar with perfectly manicured nails, proudly wearing my Philadelphia Eagles jersey (never EVER in pink), order a dozen wings and a beer and talk football with every guy there while simultaneously checking my fantasy leagues.

A friend of mine once jokingly asked if I was a closet lesbian because I saw Brian Westbrook in a Target in Brooklyn and recognized him without his helmet on. I wanted to go off how he was one of the best players to ever be on the Eagles. That he’s only the first player in the history of college football at any level with 1,000 rushing and 1,000 receiving yards in one season. That his Villanova jersey was one of the first I ever owned and then when he became an Eagle I was happier than a kid on Christmas…. BUT instead I just laughed because only die hard sports fans understand that feeling of running into your all time favorite athletes out of complete nowhere. (Side note: not a lesbian-future hubs is actually a Jets fan-gross I know, but he makes a great drinking buddy).

Some Credentials just to boost my chances that you’ll take me seriously:

-Free Lance NFL Films producer for 4 years after college

-Had my own sports talk radio show at Rider University with 3 other dudes

-2x fantasy football champ in a league of all men (back to back years)

-Hosted the NFL Pro Bowl in 2012 in Hawaii for Bud Light

And lastly….

-I’m a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan and as the saying goes “no one likes us, we don’t care!”

So either way-here I am!

I currently live in Queens, NY. Yes. I’m an Eagles fan in Queens, NY. Do you feel bad for me yet?….I grew up in Bucks County, PA right outside of Phili.   My mother was actually the one who turned me onto the Birds when I was a little kid and the passion just grew from there. I own 13 Eagles jerseys, and over 100+ in other merchandise. My very first live game was the famous “4th and 26th” against the Packers. I’ll never forget that day. Some drunken asshole spilled an entire beer on me but I was so happy we won I just let it go.  I’ve owned season tickets (with my Momma!). I’ve been to the Eagles draft parties at the stadium, toured the field and locker room, and yes, I did in fact CRY MY EYES OUT when we won the Super Bowl this year. Can you blame me? I literally thought I would be dead before that happened. No more “but how many rings do you have?” jokes…..Best.Day.EVER.

Something all my non Eagles fan friends can vouch for me though…. I am not your typical Eagles fan. I won’t boo you if you’re wearing another teams jersey. I would never throw snowballs at Santa Clause (hope he reads this). Don’t get me wrong, I can’t stand the Cowboys or the Giants and a lot of their fans, I would love to karate kick in the throat, BUT if you wanna have a fun, playful, semi shit talking sports debate, I can hang with the big dogs and back up what I say!

Oh, I almost forgot…for pretty much all sports teams (including college)-it’s Philly everything….all except for baseball….Earlier I mentioned that I currently live in Queens, NY and I’m literally a stone throw away from Citi Field, and over the last 5 or 6 years I adopted a love for the NY Mets. I was never much into baseball until I moved here and the way I see it now is, I liked a real shitty NFL team my entire life and they finally won so maybe that’ll happen for the Mets….also if you don’t like either the Yankees or Mets in this town you get shanked and there is no fuckin way I’m liking the damn Yanks!

I’m a cute Philly broad who bleeds green, lives in enemy territory and knows my shit. Deal with it.
